We’re very conflicted about making available this Spotify playlist, but many people have asked for a playlist, and we wanted to accommodate. We will work on migrating our lists to other platforms, but that will take some time. That said, Spotify exploits artists by not paying or underpaying them for their work. They also engage in all kinds of algorithmic shenanigans, and do not respect the data privacy of its users. We’d ask a few things from you. First, always figure out how to buy music from artists you want to support. Second, please visit our friends at the United Musicians and Allied Workers who are leading the fight on this and other issues. Finally, if you haven’t read it already, we recommend Liz Pelly’s book about Spotify, which lays it all out in clear language.
